Join us for a special choir concert fundraiser organized by Andrew. The Haywardians will be performing songs from the musicals, with proceeds going to support the hospice's work caring for those with terminal or life-limiting illnesses. Andrew's personal connection to the hospice through his mother and volunteer work makes this an impactful event you won't want to miss. Your admission ticket includes a finger buffet with tea or coffee or a cold drink and a welcome drink of a glass of prosecco or a non alcoholic alternative . There will be a raffle with fantastic prizes so don't forget to bring cash with you on the night!
Event Sponsored by Morrisons Supermarket Sutton Road Maidstone as they have very kindly donated a £20 gift card towards the finger buffet food for the interval.
We are a charity and we don’t charge a penny for our care. We depend on the compassion and kindness of you, the people of this community, to power our services and ensure that everyone gets the help they need.
We provide specialist care and support to adults who have a terminal illness as well as their families, friends and carers. We help people to live as fully and as well as possible for the rest of their lives and ensure that their final days are comfortable and peaceful, wherever they choose to be.
We treat every individual as the unique and special person that they are. Everything we do is tailored and personalised.
£6m
It costs £6m a year to deliver your Hospice services and we depend on your kindness for 80% of it.
1,000
Over 1,000 people and their families - people you may know - are receiving our care right now!
We are a four part harmony choir (SATB) based at St Mary in the Marsh, which sings all kinds of music from Bach to Barlow and from Elgar to Elton.
The Haywardians is the brainchild of organist, Dean Hayward. Following the success of assembling a scratch choir for the St Mary’s 2009 Christmas Carol Service, he decided to start a four-part community choir, based in St Mary in the Marsh, to sing a variety of music and to perform as widely as possible. Consequently, a choir of thirty voices formed. Over the years the choir’s numbers and membership has fluctuated but has always been blessed with experienced choral singers from all over SE Kent – from Lyminge to Lydd-on-Sea and from Dover to Brookland – in itself no small tribute to Dean’s reputation as both organist and choir master.
Its aims are to have fun while singing a wide range of music and to raise funds for charities and good causes. In 2016 the choir’s concerts raised £2,700 and since the first concert in October 2010 the choir has raised £15,800 all of which went to charities and local good causes.
Please print and complete the gift aid form if you are an eligible UK tax payer. The Hospice as a registered charity can claim gift aid on your ticket price to attend this event! Please bring your completed form to the concert on the 12th April at Otham Church , thank you.
Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows us to claim back the tax you've already paid on your donations. In essence, it adds 25p for every £1 you donate, at no extra cost to you. This additional funding enables us to care for even more patients and their loved ones. You must be a current UK taxpayer, but this is not limited to tax on earnings, you also qualify if you pay tax on a pension, savings, property sales or rental income. You must also ensure you've paid an amount of income or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax we reclaim on your donations.
